YardsaleList ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at yardsalelist.com (the "Service"), which helps people find and list local yard sales. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider. We never receive or store your social-login password.
- Listing information. When you post a yard sale we collect the details you provide, such as the sale address or location, dates and times, descriptions, item lists, prices, and any photos you upload.
- Location and search data. When you search for sales we use the ZIP code or location you enter to show nearby results.
- Payment information. If you purchase a paid feature, payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly.
- Technical data. Like most websites, we and our providers may collect basic technical information such as browser type and general usage, and we store small amounts of data in your browser (local storage / cookies) to keep you signed in and remember settings.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate sign-in.
- To publish your listings and show them to nearby shoppers.
- To geocode addresses and provide maps and directions (via Google Maps).
- To process payments for paid features (via Stripe).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account or listings.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. Your data is shared with them only as needed to provide their function:
- Supabase — account authentication and data storage.
- Google (Maps & Sign-In) — geocoding, maps, directions, and optional Google sign-in.
- Meta (Facebook Login) — optional Facebook sign-in.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid features.
- Netlify & Render — website and API hosting.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see our Data Deletion page.
Your choices and rights
- You can update or remove your listings from your account.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data.
- You can revoke Google or Facebook access from those providers' settings at any time.
Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do.
